My team won Startup Weekend Lecce 2014

During the last weekend I've been in Lecce (Italy) and took part in a startup competition called Startup Weekend Lecce.
Startup Weekend events take place all over the world and aim to make teams launch their startups in 54 hours of no talk, all action. The idea my team and I developed in this short amount of time is called Hubout, and it's meant to be a question/answer platform for collecting structured information about content of online videos (e.g.: "which brand produces and where can I buy that t-shirt Pharrel Williams wears at second 0:50 of this video?"). We've been a very complete and cohesive team, each contributing with his/her skills. I helped in developing the business and revenue model, making everyone play in an event storming (or something similar) session (thank you @ziobrando for the teachings); I also developed the html/javascript MVP working demo that we showed to the judges during the final 5 minutes pitch. I need to thank the following people:

  • My team: Anna, Claudio, Bruno, Tommaso, Giovanni, Daniele.
  • Coaches; without them, our idea would have been developed worse and slower, for sure: Sabrina (thanks for legal and commercial advises), Raimondo (the break even point guy), Giancarlo (agile sensei and great friend), Angelika, Daniele, Puria (as crazy as experienced), Massimo (a really smart guy, believe me), Daniele, Giovanni, Danilo (demolition man: takes your idea, shakes it, throws it 50 meters away and returns it to you way better than before), Giovanni, Edoardo, Manuela.
  • My friends: Antonietta, Pietro and Miki, who dragged me into this adventure and took the third place with their project Torte à porter.

It's really been fun, I've learned a lot of things and met some great people. See you next time!
